Upcoming one-man Show at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio
My exhibit will open on February 1st 2009, at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, with 12 or more works approximately 40" x 60 ", some portrait some landscape.
I am working hard trying to create and codify lots of feelings thinking and images... Usually I have a year or two to create the art and a curator picks from that body of work. This situation is unique and energizing I am happy to say just 4 months ago I sold 2 prints, so I can afford the up front cost of doing a full scale one man show 12" x 55", a big chunk of space... with three months to go, takes 2 months to print and mount so I am crazy happy busy... Drawing my inspiration from artist such as William Hogarth, Francisco Goya, Picasso, René Magritte.
I am at a good point in the personal myth process.
Currently enjoying juxtaposing the neo-iconic anthropomorphic blue-eyed elbow macaroni on even my "most serious work"...
Gotta go for now,
be well ...
Charles
